The Inspiration of The Basil Hinge
From an initial sketch, to our first prototype….to the final production. The Basil Hinge.
The hinge was designed to make it easy to change the angle of the umbrella. Remember those old hinges from the 70’s with the wing nut that you always used to loose in the sand? Well the Basil hinge is designed to eliminate this and to lock and unlock the hinge, you simple rotate a switch a little more than a quarter turn. It’s easy for everyone to use and has been also been tested on some people that suffer from terrible arthritis.
