Workshop & Warehouse Operative (Permanent Part Time or Casual)

Basil Bangs is seeking a reliable and hands-on Workshop & Warehouse Operative to carry out day-to-day operations at our Brookvale site. This permanent part-time or casual role is ideal for someone with practical assembly and warehousing experience, with growth potential.

You will carry out a range of tasks including assembling umbrellas and furniture, performing light modifications, preparing stock for dispatch, receiving goods, and conducting local deliveries and site installations. You’ll work closely with the operations team to ensure customer orders are fulfilled efficiently, to a high quality.

This role is based in our warehouse in Brookvale, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. 

What you'll be doing
  • Assemble umbrellas and furniture for dispatch.
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness, tools, and packaging stock
  • Pack and prepare outgoing orders to Basil Bangs standards
  • Complete deliveries to clients, retailers, or warehouses using company van
  • Ensure accurate documentation and customer handover
  • Attend site visits to assist with product installation – e.g. mounting umbrellas or delivering bases to commercial clients
  • Represent the brand with professionalism on-site
  • Communicate installation or access issues to the team
  • Participate in periodic stock counts
  • Restock packaging materials and consumables as needed
  • Liaise with the Operations Manager on daily priorities and special projects
  • Support seasonal ramp-up with flexible hours when needed
What we're after
  • Experience in a hands-on warehouse, trade, or assembly-based role (furniture, shade, or outdoor product experience ideal)
  • Good attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
  • Comfortable using hand tools and working with large or heavy items
  • Current driver’s licence &  ability to complete local deliveries and install jobs
  • Forklift license & White card (highly desirable)
  • Physically fit and capable of handling umbrellas, bases, and furniture items
  • Organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently
