Kelsey Brookes x Basil Bangs
San Diego based artist Kelsey Brookes partnered with Basil Bangs to create an epic artwork to share and grow 'Awareness' across the Basil Bangs range.
This San Diego based artist started his career as a research scientist, a background that informs his artistic practice today. Many of his works explore the molecular structure of common pharmaceuticals through intricately mapping their structure on canvas. The painstakingly layered and coloured, large scale canvases reference common medications and their desired side effects. Asked why Awareness is an ideal partner for our products, Brookes says: “Awareness” is part of my painting method, and if the viewer can feel that from looking at their umbrella, I have done my job well. Awareness is good to spread!
